About Alexandra

Hello— My name is Alexandra and I am an Economics student going into my senior year at American University in Washington DC! I am a passionate writer and have experience tutoring in English at the K12 level. I have also worked with several students on their Common App and Supplementary Essays for college applications. At times it can be overwhelming and students need someone to be objective and help guide them. I am still very fresh to the college application process and am confident I can provide these resources. I am passionate about the possibilities and look forward to working with you in this next important step of your education!

I have experience tutoring through highschool and most of my college career. I am also currently studying at American University to recieve my BA in Economics.

About the lesson

I think it is critical to understand the learning style of a student before we get started so that we can most effectively make our way through the material. I also think that this is important knowledge for students to have as they move forward in their academic careers. When it comes to college essay writing, I like to get to know a student's personality, likes and dislikes, hobbies, etc. It is important to make sure that college essays properly portray each student as a unique multifaceted individual!

I have tutored younger students ages 11 to 13 to help with coursework and building crucial essay writing skills. I have also worked with high schoolers across the board. I have plenty of experience in helping students brainstorm for college essay topics as well as editing and providing feedback on their writing.

Details

I offer a flat rate of $30 for 60 minute sessions and $20 for 30 minute sessions. I also charge an extra fee of $15 per essay to edit inbetween these meetings. However, I am always willing to discuss prices to meet you and your student's needs!
