About Summer

I am a dedicated Computer Science student at Aston University with a strong interest in programming, problem-solving, and helping others learn. Through my academic studies and project work, I have developed a solid understanding of core computer science concepts and how to apply them in practical situations.

I take pride in being reliable, patient, and well-prepared for every lesson. I understand that learning programming can feel overwhelming at times, so I focus on creating a calm and supportive environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and building their confidence step by step.

As a current student, I am familiar with the GCSE and beginner-level curriculum and the common areas where students struggle. This allows me to explain concepts in a clear, relatable way that makes them easier to understand.

I am committed to helping each student improve at their own pace and achieve their goals, whether that is gaining confidence, improving grades, or developing a strong foundation in computer science.

About the lesson

My approach to tutoring is focused on helping students truly understand concepts rather than just memorising them. As a Computer Science student at Aston University, I understand the common challenges students face when learning programming and aim to explain topics in a clear, simple and relatable way.

In my lessons, I use a step-by-step teaching method:

* I start by identifying what the student finds difficult
* I break the concept down into simple terms
* We work through examples together
* The student then attempts similar problems with my guidance
* I reinforce learning with small tasks and recap key ideas

I focus on building confidence as well as problem-solving skills, so students become more independent over time.

Lessons typically last 60 minutes, but I can adapt the length depending on the student’s needs.

I have experience in programming through my university studies, including working on real-world projects involving web development and problem-solving. I also regularly practise coding, which helps me stay sharp and up to date with core concepts.

My lessons are suitable for:

* GCSE Computer Science students
* Beginners learning Python or programming fundamentals
* First-year university students needing support with core concepts
