About Clea

I am a psychology student in Edinburgh with 2 years of various experience in schools. I have taught psychology and History in primary and secondary schools as part of an "introduction to teaching" programme, and as such I have encountered more than 50 different students who I have worked with in this time, from ages 6 to 16, and in many subjects.

About the lesson

My teaching method is about individuality. I have given lessons to children who speak English as an additional language and those who have ASD and ADHD, as well as high achievers. As such, I have learnt that many students learn in so many different ways, and I can assess the needs of the student to develop the correct tactics for them.

I am particularly skilled with those who are less enthused by education, and have thought up tactics to help keep these students working and engaged in lessons. On the other hand, with confident and engaged students I have methods that can help with learning, understanding, and retrieving information from memory.

I will tackle areas based on the student's weaknesses, with either a knowledge-based or exams-based approach, depending on what needs work. With exam preparation, I have many techniques for answering questions, remembering and revising content, and how to write efficiently. With developing knowledge and skills, I will take a piece-by-piece approach by breaking down large topics and working through them logically.

Most importantly, I wish to offer tuition that will help the student improve not just in the subject of focus, but to help them become an overall more successful learner.
