About Holly

Dia duit! I’m Holly, a primary teaching student currently completing my Professional Master of Education (Primary) through Irish at the Marino Institute of Education. I hold a BA in Irish and Sociology from Maynooth University and was educated through Irish my whole life, attending both a Gaelscoil and an Irish-medium secondary school.
As a trainee primary school teacher, I offer grinds across all primary school subjects (including Maths, English, Irish, SESE, phonics, and general homework support). These sessions can be taught through English or entirely trí mheán na Gaeilge, making them ideal for Gaelscoil pupils or children who need extra support building strong core foundations.
Alongside full primary tuition, I specialise in Junior Cycle and Leaving Cert Irish. Having achieved an H1 in Leaving Certificate Irish, I understand how to break down the curriculum and exam papers in a clear, manageable way so students feel prepared rather than overwhelmed. I have a real love for the language, especially the spoken side (comhrá), and I believe Irish shouldn’t just be about learning off essays—it should be enjoyable, practical, and intuitive.
I have hands-on experience working in classrooms and Gaelscoileanna, including supporting children with additional educational needs. I aim to create a relaxed, encouraging learning environment tailored to each student's pace and learning style.

About the lesson

My approach to tutoring is friendly, supportive, and focused on building confidence—whether across core primary curriculum subjects or in Irish. I tailor each lesson to the student’s level and individual needs, whether that is day-to-day homework help, foundational numeracy and literacy, exam preparation, or improving spoken Irish. For primary school students, I offer grinds in all primary curriculum subjects (including Maths, English, Irish, and SESE), available in English or trí mheán na Gaeilge.
I use a mix of active learning, conversation (comhrá), and simple, clear explanations to make learning feel natural and enjoyable rather than overwhelming. Lessons typically last around 60 minutes, but I can be flexible depending on the student.
I hold a BA in Irish and Sociology from Maynooth University, achieved an H1 in Leaving Certificate Irish, and am currently completing my Professional Master of Education (Primary) through Irish at the Marino Institute of Education. I have extensive experience working in classrooms and Gaelscoileanna, including supporting children with additional educational needs. I offer comprehensive grinds for primary school pupils across all subjects, as well as Junior Cycle and Leaving Cert Irish grinds.

Details

Lesson Rates & What’s Included:
-Leaving Cert & Junior Cycle Irish: €50 / hour. Includes bespoke H1 notes, oral exam (Béaltriail) mock interviews and feedback, essay correction outside of lesson hours, and past exam breakdown.
-Primary School (All Subjects / Trí Mheán na Gaeilge): €50 / hour. Tailored learning plans across Maths, English, Irish, and SESE. (Note: 45-minute sessions are available upon request for younger primary students at €40).
The Free 30-Minute Intro:
-The complimentary 30-minute session is an informal meet-and-greet / consultation. We will assess the student’s current level, identify key areas for growth (homework support, exam focus, or oral confidence), and map out a personalised learning plan.
In-Person & Travel:
-Lessons can be held online or in-person. A €5 travel fee applies for home visits depending on location within Dublin to cover travel time.
