About Yichen

Hello! I'm a passionate language enthusiast and native Mandarin speaker currently pursuing my studies at the University of Melbourne. Having experienced the challenges of learning new languages myself, I understand the importance of patient, encouraging guidance. I love sharing Chinese culture and language with others because I believe language learning opens doors to new perspectives and meaningful connections. My goal is to make Chinese accessible and enjoyable, helping you build confidence while discovering the beauty of this rich language and culture.

About the lesson

My teaching approach focuses on creating a comfortable, interactive learning environment tailored to each student's goals and learning style. I combine structured lessons with practical conversation practice, incorporating cultural context to make Chinese learning engaging and meaningful. Whether you're preparing for exams, improving business communication, or exploring Chinese culture, I adapt my methodology to suit your pace and interests, ensuring steady progress and genuine confidence in using Mandarin.

Perfect! Yichen makes learning fun, with a great breakdown of the language and the patience of a saint. She is more than happy to go over a sound or word over and over again, for as long as we need, without complaint. I feel safe learning with her, and I'm very happy.

Celeste is a very diligent and cheerful student who always approaches lessons with a positive attitude. She is engaged, cooperative, and a pleasure to teach. Our lessons are always enjoyable, and she creates a comfortable and friendly learning atmosphere. Going forward, she could continue to build her confidence in speaking and challenge herself to use more complex expressions.
