About Monique

I am based in Shanghai and bring a rich academic background, having been an exchange student in the U.S. and earned a Master’s degree in Industrial Engineering and Logistics Management from the University of Hong Kong. I can teach in English and speak some Cantonese. With a strong sense of structure and logic, I’m confident in helping you learn Chinese more efficiently. My interests are diverse—I enjoy writing, traveling, and playing the piano, ensuring my lessons are engaging and never boring. As a lifelong learner with a passion for new challenges like studying French and coding, I also embrace a multicultural and open-minded approach in my teaching.

My teaching method is based on encouragement and personalization. I adapt my lessons to fit each student’s unique characteristics, with a focus on practical, modern, and culturally relevant content suited to today’s Chinese environment. My goal is to create an enjoyable and relatable learning experience that resonates with students' everyday lives.

A typical lesson plan:
Each class is structured around a specific topic. We learn vocabulary and expressions related to that theme, then expand the lesson content based on the student's level and needs. This approach helps students grasp both basic and advanced concepts seamlessly, ensuring steady progress.

What sets you apart as a tutor:
I create a personalized learning record for each student to track their progress over time. Additionally, my international travel experiences and piano-playing skills allow me to introduce diverse, interesting elements into the classroom, making lessons engaging and unique. I aim to make learning enjoyable by connecting it with real-life scenarios and creativity.
