About Eden

Hi! I am Eden, a native Chinese speaker with 5 years of teaching experience, and a deep love for working with children. My journey began when I was just 12 years old—I had my first opportunity to care for younger children, and I’ve loved it ever since. What started as simply playing with kids quickly turned into something deeper. I realised that being a mentor during their formative years, while also having fun and teaching them meaningful lessons, was something that brought me joy and purpose. Watching them grow—not just in language, but in confidence, values, and curiosity—feels like a true calling. After years of teaching and guiding students in learning both Chinese and English, I have come to understand how language can empower children. It opens doors, builds cultural bridges, and shapes how they see the world. I bring this perspective into every lesson I teach—creating a safe, positive, and engaging space where kids can learn Mandarin while developing character and self-belief. As a tutor, I am patient, caring, and professional, and I treat every child with the respect and attention they deserve. I take pride in building trusting relationships with both my students and their families, because I believe learning works best when children feel supported, happy, and inspired.

About the lesson

As a native Chinese speaker with 5 years of teaching experience in Malaysia, I specialise in teaching Mandarin to children aged 7 to 12 through an interactive and engaging learning style. Having taught English to Chinese-speaking students before, I fully understand the challenges of learning a second language, and I bring this bilingual insight into every class I teach. My teaching philosophy is simple: children learn best when they are happy, relaxed, and engaged. I aim to make every lesson fun, encouraging, and rewarding—whether we’re learning vocabulary through games, practising tones with songs, or using stories to build sentence structure. In my classes, I don't just aim to teach Chinese—I focus on nurturing the whole child. I truly enjoy mentoring children during this key growing period, where their confidence, identity, and character begin to take shape. It’s incredibly fulfilling to be a positive guide in their journey, both academically and personally.
