About Fiona

I am Chinese-native speaker, linguist (MA) and sworn translator. Since 2006 I give private Chinese classes to companies as well as public courses at the vhs. (Please see: (concealed information)

Main topics and areas of interest:
- Chinese phonetics course with special consideration or correction to the mother tongue influences from the Germanic, Romance and Altaic language areas
- Intensive Chinese language training including phonetics, morphology, syntax and semantics Culture-related seminars such as tea ceremony, forms of movement, etc., as well as lectures on historical and cultural developments
- Theatrical exercises in language courses or conversation

About the lesson

I use theatrical practice methods in Chinese phonetics, as well as modern culture-related applications in both writing and speaking. For example, in my Phonetics course, you do not learn how to imitate a voice or pronounce a word only one-sidedly, but focus on developing the ability to correct yourself even if the word is unknown.
