About Louise
I am a student teacher with 4 years of experience in teaching. I have taught classes ranging in size from one to twenty students. My student's grades have improved but more importantly, their confidence and organizational skills have been boosted through my assistance. I attended Biola University for three years and was part of the Torrey Honors system in which I read Plato, Aristotle, Descartes, Boethius, Luther, and countless others. We read two to three philosophical books a week and came together to discuss them in an Oxford-style debate. We also were required to do semester-long, in-depth studies to produce a paper or project which we would then present to our mentor/professor at the end of the semester. These many experiences trained me to consider the viewpoints of others and connect with them as individuals to help them understand my perspective as well as the perspective of the philosophers we studied.

My teaching method is incredibly flexible based on the student with which I am working. I enjoy the creativity of meeting a student at their understanding and presenting the information in new, fresh ways that speak to the individual. I use pictures, analogies, conversations, multimedia, scaffolding, and any other methods I can think of to find what best speaks to the student I am helping. My method is to be patient and see the student as a unique individual and work from there.
