About Matt

Hi, my name is Matt and I am studying for a Master's Degree in Computer Science at Queen Mary, University of London. I graduated with a first-class honours degree in Computer Science from Loughborough University in 2023 which included a year of industry experience in front-end software development at BT in Belfast. I have experience creating software for industry in a fast-paced, agile environment and thus have an understanding of what skills are needed for a career in the profession. I am looking to help develop these skills for other students of all ages, as I truly believe it is never too early nor too late to work towards a career in Computer Science!

About the lesson

- Breakdown challenges into smaller sub-tasks and encourage the student to employ their existing knowledge
- Always happy to explain new and existing concepts using examples to help encourage learning
- Coding practice can be supported through third-party programming sites such as Leetcode or Hackerrank
- Encourage students to work on 'homework' style tasks between lessons as well as learn new concepts independently to facilitate learning and reinforce knowledge
- Lessons typically would be either 30 minutes or 1 hour
