About Tristan

I am very personable and will accommodate to each childs learning styles to make sure that they are as successful as they can be! I truly think that if taught correctly, the subject that your child has issues with, will be one of their favorite subjects if you choose me. I try to use new teaching methods and styles to help children learn the best that they can! I am a fourth year student at George Mason University, with my degree in History and my minor in American Government.

There is a lot I like about my job! One of the biggest perks is getting a student that did not like History or Government before to love it. I find that the public school system teaches history and government wrong and with the right system it can be taught in a fun and intriguing way. Another thing that I love about my job is that I get to meet new people and form relationships with people I would not meet otherwise.

I actually come from a teaching family! My father and Mother are teachers, so I grew up around it. I decided from a very early age that my calling would be to teach!

I am on the 4th year of my degree at George Mason University. My degree is History, and my minor is American Government. I have also been a substitute teacher for Prince William County for about six months. In those six months I have worked iwth children from K-12.

About the lesson

I will usually sit down with the student and discuss what ways that they learn best. Once we figure out what this is, I will create a plan that focuses around the student!

I have worked with students with ll types of different backgrounds. Like I said before, I have worked different grade levels from K-12. Within those, I have worked with children that have learning disabilities and special needs children!
