About Lisa
I am currently a high school history teacher at an independent school in Houston, Texas. I earned a Master's degree in History at the University of Oregon in 2025. I was previously a classroom teacher for more than ten years in Tacoma, WA, USA. My areas of expertise are Modern European History and World History. I have experience tutoring students for AP World History, AP European History and AP US History (APUSH), as well as supporting students in IB Diploma programs. I earned my Bachelor of Arts from Columbia University in 2008.

I always try to customize my classes to meet my student's needs. In general, I am well-prepared to support students currently enrolled in AP or IB history courses with coursework, writing assignments, and/or test preparation. For younger students, I am able to provide support in Social Studies or History classes.
