About Wenda

I'm learning about education, languages, and linguistics. I've been working as a private and online tutor teaching Mandarin and English in London and other countries for more than 10 years. I enjoy teaching and sharing my experience with both kids and adult learners.

About the lesson

# I only do online lessons at the moment. You can decide any time between 7 : 00 - 17 : 00 every day. (UK GMT+1) (other time slots would be possible) === Learn with me: === *How do I help students learn Mandarin? • When teaching pronunciation I help learners know the tongue positions to pronounce properly. Listening and practising distinguishing tones are very important since Chinese is a tonal language. • I create commonly used sentence patterns instead of complicated grammar terms to motivate learners to make sentences and get used to what people usually talk/speak. • I design diverse lessons for students with various levels and purposes such as daily conversation, talking about different topics, and preparing for exams. • For learners who want to improve their conversational skill: Students are the main role which means they speak and share their opinions and meanwhile I correct mistakes or suggest natural usage. • No need to buy books. It'd also be good if you have other materials and wish to use them. • I send follow up notes, link, and materials after each class (and recording assignment if needed). So you don't need to take notes.

Perfect! A friendly, effective and well organized tutor!
We had a great experience with Wenda's Chinese lessons. Over the course of several months, she taught my daughter some basic Chinese, as our family was getting ready to relocate to China. We had a bad experience with another tutor before, so were very careful with choosing the new one. Wenda was extremely well organized and prepared for every lesson. The materials she used were clear and helpful, as were the home assignments given. She was very effective in teaching the pronunciation techniques, including the tones, and generally made the process of learning a new complex language less intimidating. She was punctual and friendly, and my daughter enjoyed every single lesson. Many thanks for your help, Wenda!
