About Sam
I am a computer science student and have a lot of programming experience due to having worked on projects outside of the classroom and written a piece of software for a small I.T. company.
I believe that it is important to see programming as a skill rather than a subject and I am passionate about teaching students to create their own programs rather than simply memorising functions without understanding what they do.

I teach students with no prior knowledge of programming to start writing python programs or making making modern HTML webpages within a few lessons and teach new programming concepts such as OOP and database handling to students who already have some experience with programming. My lessons are typically 1 hour long so that students can use the whole lesson without getting tired and loosing focus. I also take a hands on approach where the student writes code and tests it on their own machine as they learn.
