About Zahrah
Hi, I’m Zahrah! I've been a tutor in some capacity for two years. I'm from southeast London, and when I'm not tutoring or at university in Durham studying English Literature, I am often cheerleading, rollerskating or dancing. I also love reading and I will always take the time to learn and adapt sessions to make them more engaging and enjoyable. I look forward to meeting you and becoming part of your learning journey!

The typical length of my lesson is one hour. During that hour, we look at either GCSE English Literature or Language, depending on your needs. Before beginning tutoring I offer a taster session free of charge to assess the student's level. If you choose to continue, I will create an individualised curriculum for each student specific to their needs.
Most students who struggle with English understand how to name the techniques within texts; they struggle with the 'why', which is essential for high marks in GCSE English Literature and Language. Within my sessions, we take a focused approach to the impact of language and techniques, which is core to understanding and writing about a text. Then, we break down the marks according to the students exam board, and look at what is required to achieve top marks in each section.
