About Emma

I have tutored privately for 8 years and out of those 8 years, 6 were college level tutoring. I have tutored in Biology 1 & 2, Microbiology, Anatomy & Physiology, Chemistry and Algebra, (all things science), and this will be my first time tutoring Trigonometry and Statistics. I am extremely talented at exam preparation as well and memorization techniques.

About the lesson

I have an associates in General Studies with a focus in biology and am currently working towards a Bachelors in Chemistry with the intent of preparing for Veterinarian School. I am also working towards a Vet-Tech Associates. All too often students ask for help and get on explanation just repeated over and over...eventually, if the student doesn't understand, they give up and decide to ask someone else for help or struggle to figure it out on their own. My goal and focus is to ensure that never happens. If a student doesn't understand my first explanation, I approach the topic from a new direction until I learn how the student learns. I try to relate topics to something the student specifically understands or enjoys, like their hobbies so they walk away with an analogy they can actually remember and understand later on. I also have various memorization techniques to assist in exam prep. I want my tutor sessions to be fun, if you think back to a week ago and try to remember what all happened, the moments you remember are the exciting, funny, frustrating moments. The rest of the facts, end up getting blurred, but the moments and facts you can think of, are the ones where you showed emotions. That is why I choose to try to make my tutoring session as fun and filled with laughter as possible.

1-hour Tutor Session - $18.00

5, 1-hour Tutor Sessions - $80.00
10, 1-hour Tutor Sessions - $150.00

Travel Pay - 10 miles each way (20 miles round trip) free travel, additional mileage is charged $0.535 (IRS 2017 Standard Mileage Rate)
Due to me living out of town, I allot 10 miles each way complementary travel mileage. Any additional mileage is charged at the standard IRS annual mileage rate (53.5 cents per mile or $0.535). If you life in twin falls it should total a $2.00-$4.00 total round trip charge averaging in the $3.00 range.
