I have been a qualified chef and further education teacher for more years than I can remember and have worked in various restaurant kitchens as well as running my own private and event catering and training business for over 14 years. My teaching methods will be both practical and theory over a webcam.
Practical lessons will include:
* preparing and cooking recipes that you would like to try for yourself which are tasty and cost effective
* Baking basics bread, cakes, biscuits etc.
* Basic knife skills for cutting food safely
* Fresh and seasonal ingredients available
* Clean as you go
* Equipment safety
Theoretical lessons will include:
* Basic food hygiene knowledge e.g. bacteria, temperature control. safe zones, personal hygiene etc.
* Basic safety with knives and equipment
* Simple kitchen first aid cuts, burns and scalds
* Basic food technology
* Creating, following and cooking from your own recipes
