About Doyle
82 students have joined me to build their skills in contemporary piano playing. I have spent 10 years working with learners who want to play the songs they actually love.
You can expect a focus on DYNAMICS AND EXPRESSION that brings life to every piece you touch. My sessions are quite relaxed because I find that is when the best progress happens.
Techniques like sight transposition and scales are important, but I prefer to integrate them into songs. I also rely on memorization techniques that keep your mind sharp while you play. Helping you gain confidence at the keys is my main objective as a coach. It really is a joy to watch your progress over the weeks.

Keys feel different under your fingers after a few minutes of warm up. We start by addressing your chosen songs, often creating custom arrangements that fit your specific playing style. Playing pop music requires a keen ear for accompaniment skills, so we spend plenty of time there. I make sure you understand how to use dynamics to give your music real personality.
You might find that scales and arpeggios become much more interesting when they serve a melody you enjoy. We move through technical challenges by turning them into musical expressions rather than boring drills.
I love seeing the moment a student stops reading the page and starts truly feeling the rhythm. It makes a huge difference when you stop worrying about perfection and start focusing on the sound itself. Our 6.0 level of detail ensures you walk away with a refined version of your favorite track. You will have a clear path to mastery by the time we finish up.
