About Marianne
I am primarily a tutor. I like helping students who need to brush up their study skills. I have been successful in my own test taking and try to do the best I can to assess the student need. I have been teaching on and off for about 20 years. My students have varied in age from 5 years old to about 60 years old. I've taught on every grade level from children to adults but my classroom work has been in Middle School. I taught in an Arabic Charter School for one year and was assistant teacher in an Eighth grade "pod" for a year. I also helped a student get her GED and another get her CNA. I brought several students up to grade level in reading and math.

I graduated from Emmanuel College with degrees in Biology, General Science and Education. I went to Graduate school in1995 and studied an Independent Course at Fitchburg State, University of Michigan and Henry Ford Hospital. My degree was Maste rof Arts in Teaching Science.
I'm Marianne Dagher and I'm a Retired Middle School Science teacher. I have taught Adult Basic Education, English as a Second Language, Reading and Math through Sylvan; Seventh and Eighth Grade Science, Physics, Health, and Social Skills in the Classroom; Test Preparation and Homework Organization. Remedial Reading on the 4th grade level. I have taught First year French, Spanish and Arabic.
I follow my Sylvan training to assess a students needs and try to point out strategies that can help overcome their difficulties. I use an approach that helps organize the thinking process.
