About Tatum
"Spending 13 years in the studio has refined my understanding of how students of all ages process complex musical information. My career began with a firm foundation at the PEABODY INSTITUTE where I earned my MMus in piano. Over these years, I have guided countless students from age 6 through adulthood through the rigors of classical repertoire, jazz improvisation, and technical mastery.
Developing strong technique involves a deep focus on memorization, rhythm, and proper hand position. My studio environment blends conservatory discipline with consistent, encouraging feedback that helps students gain true finger independence."

"Are you struggling to break through persistent habits that hinder your progress at the keys? My approach involves systematic rewiring of your posture and listening skills to ensure that every note carries intention.
With 13 years of teaching experience, I carefully balance the demands of ABRSM or Trinity grade exam prep with the creative freedom of sight transposition and chord voicing. Lessons integrate detailed attention to scales and arpeggios alongside practical accompaniment skills for well-rounded development.
