About Heather
I have been teaching for 17 years. I even frequently teach summer school because I enjoy helping those students who may struggle or want to get ahead.
I want to help students gain the confidence and joy they should have regarding their future, and it all starts with being strong readers and writers!

I focus on skills and comprehension strategies that will transfer with you to other classrooms. I help you understand how to think my critically, and how to prepare for cold reads one might see on state tests.
A typical lesson, I will walk you through the skills/strategy, we will practice it together, and then you will be allowed to practice it on your own with guidance and feedback from me.
My lessons are for any level (9-12) for I have taught every all abilities from students with IEPs to students who are in pre-advance placement (AP) classes.
