About Raymond
Power chords vibrate against my fingertips while I demonstrate clean chord transitions to ensure students grasp the foundational music theory required for electric technique. Reading tabs feels natural once we address improvisation and soloing, specifically when exploring blues progressions and songwriting mechanics. Barre chords require patience as much as tuning and maintenance routines do, but these skills build the discipline I have cultivated over 7 years of teaching.
Graduates from The Juilliard School often find that music is a conversation, and I invite you to join that dialogue. Students ranging from nervous beginners to grade-exam candidates find steady guidance in my methodical approach. I meet each individual where they are to ensure the performance level requested is achieved without unnecessary pressure.

I sometimes struggle to keep my foot from tapping when a student finally captures the rhythm of a complex piece during our 60 minute sessions. Creating custom backing tracks so students can practise soloing at home is a core part of how I ensure progress continues between our meetings.
These tracks allow for focused repetition of specific techniques in a comfortable environment. My background as a Juilliard alumnus informs the way I break down technical challenges into manageable steps for those preparing for exams. Expect a warm environment where your progress is tracked carefully. I look forward to hearing you play your first successful solo soon.
