About Serena
I have over 14 years of experience teaching piano both in-person and online. I hold a Bachelor of Music in Piano Performance, which has given me a strong foundation in both technique and musical understanding. My teaching philosophy focuses on active participation and helping students connect with the true intent behind the music. I believe that well-rounded musicianship is key, so I include history, theory, technique, and creativity in every lesson. I adapt my teaching style to meet each student’s individual needs and goals, making sure every lesson is engaging and effective. Whether you are a beginner just starting out, an advanced player refining your skills, or a professional looking to deepen your artistry, I can help you grow. I enjoy guiding students through all levels of learning and watching them develop confidence and passion. My teaching approach focuses on building musical fluency step by step. I help students learn how to read music clearly and play with expression. Understanding the structure of music is important, so I use rhythm drills, finger exercises, and song interpretation to guide learning. Each lesson is adapted to the student’s pace and goals, making sure they feel comfortable and challenged.
For students aiming to perform classical pieces or those showing early talent, I provide strong support to help them excel. I focus on precision and emotion, helping them bring out the music’s true feeling. I encourage steady progress and build a solid foundation in technique and theory.
I believe every student is unique, so I listen carefully and adjust my teaching to fit their needs. My goal is to make learning piano enjoyable and rewarding. Step by step, students gain confidence and skill. I want them to not just play notes, but truly understand and feel the music. Together, we explore music in a way that inspires and grows their abilities.
