About Kate
Teaching piano serves as the bridge between my studio background and your musical goals, so I focus on what you need to succeed. My Master of Music from the Sydney Conservatorium provides a framework for teaching accompaniment, rhythm, and pedaling technique alongside sophisticated memorization methods. You might find that mastering complex jazz improvisation or chord voicing provides a unique thrill while preparing for ABRSM or Trinity exams. It remains a genuine joy to witness the exact moment a student understands the logic behind sight playing and ear training.

"Soft hammer strikes against strings create a rich resonance that we calibrate during our first meeting. Because I offer a free trial lesson to map out your goals, we spend time identifying your current technical ceiling before drafting a clear progress plan.
My 13 years of experience inform how I structure these sessions to ensure audible improvements in your classical repertoire and general technique. I aim to keep our practice practical and strictly musical throughout our time together. Developing your sound requires patience and a high level of precision from both of us. Hopefully, you feel prepared to step onto the stage with total confidence once our training concludes."
