About Amy
I have a Master's degree in genetics and Bachelor's degree in Medical Lab Sciences. In my day to day job, I provide education of complex genetics & biology concepts to patients who visit our hospital clinic. I have 10 years of tutoring experience in secondary school subjects including all sciences, math & English. I also have experience reviewing and assisting to write academic program applications and personal statements. Able to speak Cantonese & basic Mandarin.

I'm available in person & remotely. I always begin sessions with a 5 min check in to understand the student's specific needs and set measurable goals for the student for the lesson and for the long term. I focus on understanding concepts and applying them to specific situations so students can take lessons away and use them in other situations. I'm able to assist on students' assigned work or assign my own work, to the preference of the student.
