About Sam
Originally I'm from Wellington but moved to Auckland for university. (Yes, go the Phoenix and all that) Growing up I thought teaching was the last thing I wanted to do, in fact, I used to say I wasn't sure what I wanted to be, just not a teacher! So you can imagine my surprise when I started to enjoy helping others in my class with their classwork. Since then I've discovered a passion for spreading my learning to others, a passion that arises in part from the fact that I'm very good at it.

Flexible lessons, typically between 30 mins and an hour at least weekly, can be student-led e.g. student brings what they want to learn from school, or I can provide next steps for the student's learning. Available to students of all ages and levels up to NCEA level 3. I have over 100 hours of experience tutoring students of many different ages, which has given me a belief that patience and a willingness to accommodate all learning styles are what makes a good teacher/tutor.
