About Paul
Having earned a BA in Education and the FIDE Trainer title, I stand on the foundation of 19 years of competitive play. Walking into a tournament hall, I immediately recognize the subtle tension in a player who has not yet mastered piece coordination or reliable blunder checking. My practice centers on training rated juniors, online players, and scholastic students to sharpen their board vision. Opening principles and king safety represent the core of the game that I emphasize during every interaction. Developing a competitive mindset remains the most difficult hurdle for any growing player to clear. Are you prepared to face the cold reality of your current rating and move past your existing limits?

Admitting that I prefer hard data over abstract theories makes my teaching style starkly different from others. I rely on my 13 years of coaching experience to ensure that we focus strictly on winning positions and sound opening repertoire building. Recording and notation are not just chores but essential tools that we use to dissect your play. You will find that my FIDE Trainer status informs every instruction I provide regarding your decision making process. Lessons move at a fast pace because time spent at the board should be treated with the same seriousness as a rated tournament game. I do not sugarcoat the errors that cost you wins during high pressure moments. Instead, we hunt for the precise sequence of moves that separates a casual player from a consistent competitor. We strip away the unnecessary fluff to keep the analysis focused on long term results. You might find it useful to schedule an initial evaluation to see how I work.
