About Jacob
Outside of uni and work I'm pretty passionate about how things
work — which is a big part of why I chose engineering. I find
that same curiosity carries into tutoring. I genuinely enjoy
the moment when something clicks for a student and it starts
making sense.
I'm patient, easy to talk to, and I remember what it was like
to sit the HSC not that long ago — so I understand the pressure
students are under and I don't make sessions feel intimidating.
When I'm not studying or tutoring I'm playing guitar. I think it helps to have a tutor who's a real person, not just a textbook.

Hi, I'm Jacob — a first-year Electrical Engineering student
at Sydney university with one year of professional tutoring
experience at a tutoring center, currently also completing an
engineering internship alongside my degree.
I offer 1-on-1 tutoring in HSC Mathematics (all levels) and HSC
Physics for Years 10–12 students, as well as junior maths for
Years 7–9.
Having spent a year teaching at a center, I know how to identify exactly where a student is getting stuck, adapt my explanation style to suit how they think, and build their confidence systematically. I'm not guessing at what works — I've refined my approach through real teaching experience.
I recently completed the HSC myself, so the syllabus and exam
format are completely fresh in my mind. And as a current
engineering intern, I apply these exact maths and physics
concepts in a real professional environment every day — which
means I can show students not just how to answer exam questions, but why the content matters beyond school.
I offer a free 30-minute first session so you can see my
teaching style before committing to anything.
