About Sara

Hey, I’m Sara, a Year 13 student and GCSE tutor specialising in Biology, Chemistry, English Literature and English Language.

I achieved straight 9s at GCSE and am currently predicted 4 A*s at A-level. I also have over a year of experience providing one-to-one tutoring. I understand how overwhelming GCSEs can feel, especially when a topic just does not seem to click, and I aim to make lessons clear, structured and tailored to each student rather than using the same approach for everyone.

Whether you are struggling with particular topics, want to build your confidence, need help with exam technique or are aiming for the highest grades, I will work with you to identify exactly what needs improving and focus our lessons around that.

As I have recently completed my own GCSEs and am currently studying A-level Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics and English Literature, I can explain difficult concepts in a straightforward way and understand what is expected from students in exams.

I also provide personalised revision resources where appropriate, such as concise notes, practice questions and topic summaries, so students have something useful to refer back to between lessons.

My goal is not just to help you get through your GCSEs, but to help you become more confident and independent in your subjects. I want every student to leave a lesson feeling that they understand something they previously found difficult and know how to approach it themselves.

About the lesson

My lessons are focused on making sure students actually understand the content rather than simply memorising it. I adapt each lesson to the student, depending on their current level, the topics they find difficult and what they want to improve.

I usually begin by identifying any gaps in understanding, then explain the topic clearly and work through examples together. Once the student is comfortable with the content, I like to use exam-style questions to put it into practice. I also focus heavily on exam technique, as knowing the content is only half of doing well in GCSE exams. Where needed, I go through mistakes with students and explain exactly how they can improve their answers and avoid making the same mistakes again.

I can also provide revision resources such as concise notes, questions and topic summaries to help students continue working independently outside of lessons.

Lessons are typically 45–60 minutes, although I can be flexible depending on the student's needs. My lessons are aimed mainly at KS3 and GCSE students, including students who are looking to build confidence, catch up on difficult topics or push towards the highest grades.

I am currently a Year 13 student and achieved straight 9s at GCSE. I have over a year of experience providing one-to-one tutoring and teach GCSE Biology, Chemistry, English Literature and English Language. As someone who has recently completed these GCSEs myself, I understand the specification, exam pressure and the difference between simply knowing the content and knowing how to apply it in an exam.

I want my lessons to feel comfortable and supportive, while still being productive. Students should feel able to ask questions, make mistakes and tell me when something does not make sense, so that we can work through it properly rather than rushing past it.
