About Jenny

My name is Jenny. I am currently in Year 12 and I work hard to unlock my students' potential. I individualize my lessons for each student and make sure to listen to any requests or recommendations! I work hard to motivate students and I ensure they are on task and working towards their goals. The first thing I send students is a table in a document to fill out with information about themselves to begin the planning process. My lessons are flexible in terms of structure, so we don't necessarily have to follow my usual style! I adapt to individual students and their needs! Current overall scores in Mathematics Advanced and Mathematics Extension 1: - Mathematics Advanced: 95% - Mathematics Extension 1: 80%

About the lesson

My lessons span from 1-3 hours where necessary. Additionally, I provide parents with a document to track their child's work and progress. I run mock exams too. My structure is usually as follows:

Hour 1:
--------
- Begin with introduction to topic being taught.
- Definitions of any key terms.
- Formula explanations and worked examples applying them. (Where applicable, if not applicable, a worksheet will be provided)
- Worked examples from textbook. (Where applicable, if not applicable, a worksheet will be provided)
- 15-minute online test using website. (Account should be set up after trial lesson, there is a pretest on there to be done during trial lesson, along with other mock exams/pretests that will be uploaded before their respective lesson)
- Review of test, continuation of harder questions from textbook (Where applicable, if not applicable, a worksheet will be provided)

Hour 2 (Optional):

- Mock exam of what has been learnt within the first hour, 30-45 minutes long. (Subject to change depending on how heavy the content being taught is, some topics do not require a full mock exam, and instead are integrated into 20-minute exams mixed with other topics taught that term)
- Begin working through solutions. (Solutions provided to students as well).
- Exam is collected for revision to target weaker areas/gaps in learning.
- Revision material provided in the following lesson for any gaps.

Hour 3 (Optional):

- Begin next topic, following same structure as Hour ONE.
- WHERE APPLICABLE relate to previous topic → If not applicable, this process is ignored.
- PLEASE NOTE: Due to the possibility of Hour TWO running overtime, the topic is usually revised the next lesson, following the Hour ONE and TWO structure.

Students can opt-in for a more relaxed program where they can come prepared with questions or textbook work to do during the lesson, as long as I am aware of the topic being done beforehand.

The mock exam is not compulsory to do in class for 2-3 hour interval lessons and can instead be replaced with beginning the topic of the next lesson, however, the mock exam is assigned as homework instead. It can be worked around and catered towards each student. If the mock exam is not homework and is done in class, there will be other homework assigned (unless otherwise requested by parents or determined by me).

Details

Prices are up for negotiation. I also want to clarify that I do charge more during my exam blocks as this is an important year for my education.

The cost will go from $55/hr to $65/hr during exam blocks. These lessons are not compulsory! I am studying to go into Medicine and so I am very strict on these guidelines.

I'm saving up for university tuition fees and to rent my first apartment within the next year or two.
