About Libby
I have studied French and Spanish since the age of 7 at school, and my mum is fluent in French so I have learnt quite a lot through her. I did two French Institute courses in sixth form, and looked after children for a week in Valencia in Spain, which really advanced my level. At secondary school I often helped the younger years with their French and Spanish work. I got 2 A*s in my French and Spanish A levels.

I find vocabulary to be very central in the teaching process for the French school curriculum, and the basis of language learning. So I will help students use Quizlet which I found incredibly useful throughout my school and university studies, and help them with strategies to aid recall of words. After we do past papers or tests together I will ensure that the student writes down all the new vocabulary they missed. I will also bring articles or show them News shows to widen their horizons and provide them with new access to vocabulary, which will also help with listening: a crucial element of language learning. I think it is also very important to include elements of culture and history when studying language to give the student a full overview and spark further interest.
