About Marcia
I have so much valuable experience and am able to differentiate my approach for all types of students. I am able to identify when to push and when to step back. I believe in establishing a caring relationship where the student feels comfortable asking questions and making mistakes, as that is a big part of learning mathematics. I use problem solving as a way to stretch the math muscles and be able to accomplish novel concepts.

I have learned a lot from 32 years of teaching. My approach to teaching varies depending on the needs of the student. A typical lesson plan would include basic skills needed to be successful and practical problems to enhance learning and understanding of any topic. I have had great success with my students and have served approximately 10,000 students in my career. Much of my success has been from creating a positive and safe environment for students who have not been successful and have a negative outlook on their math abilities. I am licensed to teach middle and high school math course.
