About Shreya

Hi! I'm Shreya, I'm an 18 year old A-Level student from the South East studying English Literature, Politics and Philosophy at a top grammar school (so I write essays all the time!). I know how stressful the 11+ and GCSE exams can be, as I've lived through it all myself. This does mean I know the techniques and methods and tips to achieve your dream marks and strike off every assessment objective, to build off your class knowledge and ensure you smash every paper. Particularly for GCSE, I have my own high-scoring test papers and other notes and resources to use as a springboard. I opt for a positive approach to learning, and I like to work methodically to build up confidence in English and gain some applicable skills, and hopefully foster a love for the subject like I have.

As a student, I totally get how stressful these periods are, and I try to make lessons fun and engaging. I can cater to individual needs and adapt my teaching methods to each individual student's learning style, as I have tried and tested a bunch of different methods. If you want fun tuition with a mix of learning methods, and an understanding-based approach over just memorising quotes for exams, then give my lessons a go! When I was doing my GCSEs, I was absolutely all over the place with notes and ideas, and having an older student to help who'd already been through it would've made my exam period so much easier. That's why I want to help people achieve their full potential at English and really start to love the subject. Lessons with me will build understanding and a love for English, with skills development

About the lesson

I teach lessons between 30 minutes and an hour. I absolutely love English, and have always enjoyed it as an academic pursuit, achieving full marks on the English component in the 11+, achieving 9s in English Language and English Literature at GCSE and achieving an A* in my English A-Level mock and being predicted that.

I have helped friends study for English and have many study tips and methods that work in every component of 11+ and GCSE English. I first start by teaching techniques to understand texts, identify what the question asks, and analyse and develop these ideas. For GCSE students, I then teach how to construct an effective English essay using these techniques and ideas to hit every assessment objective and get top marks. I teach 11+ and GCSE students.

My lessons would build up skills using a variety of learning methods that I can adapt based on each student, and involve an element of fun to really foster a love for the subject.
