About Arshiya
Hi! My name is Arshiya, I recently graduated from high school in Canberra, and will be studying a Bachelor of Medical Science at The University of New South Wales in 2025. I am interested in tutoring students for mathematics as I have always had a strong passion in mathematics since year 5. Before this time, I was struggling with this subject at school and feared even opening my report card to see my math grade. My parents enrolled me into tutoring which helped me greatly, and was evident in my results. Tutoring had helped me to understand how to tackle such a difficult subject and find enjoyment in doing so. This has inspired me to become a math tutor to help build confidence in mathematics for other students. I am also interested in becoming a tutor as I had volunteered to become a tutor at my school during year 12. I enjoyed helping students to improve their skills in mathematics, and the best feeling was seeing them content with their results afterwards. I want to continue to inspire young students to work their best and achieve their goals in school.

- Techniques/Teaching methodology: When tutoring students, I understand what their strengths and weaknesses are by reviewing their recent work, and discussing how they feel their progress is going. Thus, we are able to focus on building those skills. I explain the topic to the student, and teach memorization strategies if relevant, and quiz them in the end to check how much of the subject they are now able to comprehend. - Typical length of a lesson: 1 hour - Qualifications: Achieved a B level in semester 1 year 12 math, an A level in semester 2 year 12 math. - Experience as a tutor: I volunteered as a tutor at my school for French and mathematics. I tutored a year 7 student in mathematics, and three year 7 students in French. - My mathematics lessons are suitable for students from kindergarten to year 10
