About Sariah

Hello! My name is Sariah, and I’m a Year 12 graduate with a strong passion for tutoring high school English and Sciences, specifically for students in Years 7 to 10. Throughout my time in the VCE program, I had the opportunity to delve deep into subjects like English, Chemistry, and Biology, which shaped my understanding and appreciation for these fields. In VCE English, I enjoyed analyzing texts and exploring various themes, which helped me develop my critical thinking and communication skills. I loved discussing literature and conveying ideas effectively, which is something I aim to instill in my students as well. Chemistry and Biology were equally fascinating for me, as I learned about the intricate workings of the natural world. I found joy in conducting experiments, understanding chemical reactions, and exploring biological systems. These experiences not only solidified my knowledge but also ignited my desire to share this passion with younger students. I am dedicated to supporting each of my students based on their individual needs. I understand that everyone learns differently, and I aim to create a personalized approach that ensures all students feel confident and motivated in their studies. My goal is to provide a nurturing and encouraging learning environment where students can ask questions, explore concepts, and truly grasp the material. Establishing professionalism is essential to me. I strive to stay current with educational practices and curriculum standards to ensure that I provide the most relevant and effective tutoring experience. By fostering trust and respect in our learning relationship, I aim to create a safe space for students to express their thoughts and challenges. I’m also enthusiastic to provide advice or guidance for students navigating subject selection or career advice and provide my own personal resources!

About the lesson

As a recent Year 12 graduate with high distinctions in VCE English, I endeavor to create supportive environments, guiding students from Years 7-10 with their literacy skills and challenge them in accelerated standards of English. Classes are structured to run in person or online for an hour and are tailored to meet each student’s individual needs. This can include focuses on spelling, essay writing, oral presentation, and comprehension. I aim to help you specifically on your weaknesses while maintaining advanced English skills in areas you are more confident in. English lessons are specific for students Years 7-10. Whereas for individuals with a strong interest in Science, I am qualified and able to teach Year 7-10 Science and detailed experimental design. With a strong focus on Chemistry and Biology, I hope to encourage scientific thinking skills and thoroughly prepare students for VCE level sciences while addressing their current needs and inquiries. Classes are structured to run in person or online for an hour and are tailored to meet each student’s individual requirements. This can include questions regarding schoolwork, revising theory, or practicing questions and solidifying knowledge. Science lessons are specific for students in Years 7-10.
