About Brigit
For 27 years, I have dedicated my career to creating a classroom where students feel challenged, supported, and inspired to learn. My teaching approach combines strong academic expectations with patience, consistency, and genuine care for each student’s growth. Over nearly three decades in education, I have worked with diverse learning styles and personalities, allowing me to adapt instruction so students can succeed with confidence.
Students are often drawn to my classes because I create an engaging and respectful learning environment where they feel seen, heard, and encouraged. I believe meaningful learning happens when students build trust in both the material and the teacher guiding them. My experience has taught me how to connect lessons to real-life experiences, motivate students to reach higher standards, and foster the critical thinking skills they will use far beyond the classroom.

With 27 years of experience as a K–12 educator, I have developed a student-centered lesson style that emphasizes engagement, confidence-building, and individualized instruction. My approach to English tutoring is grounded in the belief that every student can become a successful reader, writer, and communicator when instruction is tailored to their unique learning style, strengths, and academic goals.
In my lessons, I create a supportive and encouraging environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, expressing ideas, and taking academic risks. I incorporate a variety of instructional strategies, including guided reading, vocabulary development, writing workshops, literary analysis, and interactive discussion, to help students strengthen comprehension and critical thinking skills. For younger learners, I use creative and age-appropriate activities that make learning enjoyable and meaningful, while older students benefit from structured instruction focused on analytical writing, grammar, test preparation, and communication skills.
I believe effective tutoring goes beyond improving grades; it helps students develop independence, confidence, and a lifelong appreciation for learning. I regularly assess student progress and adjust lessons to ensure continuous growth and mastery. My extensive classroom experience allows me to connect with learners across all grade levels and adapt instruction to meet diverse academic and social-emotional needs.
