About Paris
I'm a high school Science teacher with 11 years’ experience, currently teaching Year 7–10 Science Extension in Melbourne’s eastern suburbs. I’m passionate about making Science clear, logical, and achievable, and I help students build confidence through structured lessons and practical strategies. I have taught VCE Biology for 8 years and have been a VCAA assessor, so I understand what high-quality responses look like and how students can improve quickly. I’ve also taught and led Science across Years 7–10 for many years, so I know the common misconceptions students get stuck on and how to address them effectively. My style is calm, organized, and encouraging, with high expectations and targeted feedback to help students lift results.

My tutoring is structured, supportive, and highly targeted to what each student needs. I start by identifying gaps (through quick checks, recent test work, or class tasks), then I break down difficult concepts into clear steps using diagrams, simple analogies, and “I do / we do / you do” practice so students can explain ideas confidently in their own words. Each lesson includes a mix of direct teaching and guided questions, followed by exam-style application so students learn how to respond under test conditions, not just memorise facts. We also build core scientific skills across the year levels—using key terminology accurately, interpreting graphs and data, writing strong practical reports (aim, method, variables, results, and conclusions), and improving “working scientifically” skills like forming hypotheses, designing fair tests, and evaluating reliability. Sessions are typically 60 minutes (longer available) and I provide clear goals, targeted practice, and feedback so students can track progress, lift results, and feel more confident in class.
