About Alex
I am a Year 12 student currently studying A Levels in Maths, Further Maths, Physics, and Chemistry. I attained 10 GCSEs at grades 7-9, including 9s in Maths and Physics, with an A grade in the OCR Free Standing Maths Qualification. I have an avid interest in Physics, where I am currently working through the entrance assignment to Oxford University's COMPOS programme, while I plan to participate in UKMT's Senior Maths Challenge in October. Upon joining sixth form, I have become a STEM ambassador for the school, where I hope to inspire many people to pursue further education and careers in the various STEM fields.

Aim to build a solid foundation of knowledge at the start of lessons, as a solid foundation is crucial to securing a proper understanding. This would be done through an overview of the topic being covered in that lesson, being followed by example questions which I would break down into smaller steps. These solutions would hopefully be student led, with me providing guidance where necessary; this would never be in the form of simply showing the answer, as that is not how to develop a proper understanding of a topic. I would encourage the student to vocalise their thought process if they are struggling with a question, as this can be very helpful in progressing with a problem and aiding with thought clarity.
