About Thomas
Over the last three years I've worked one-on-one with students at both UT and Austin Community College. My classes at ACC reach full enrollment -- circa 30 students. My students improve remarkably on their writing and gain the foundational skills to be successful through enquiry. I am very attuned to individual personalities and interests, and have a knack for connecting the student to the material, keeping everything interesting along the way.

I'm a professor at Austin Community College, with a Master's from UT Austin in Art History. My technique is to keep students engaged and focused by cultivating skills to ask broad, profound questions that bring the material to life. With writing, I am a demanding and persistent editor who believes in listening to students and working with their natural processes, pushing them to develop their own authoritative voice on the page. I bring the best out of everyone, but have the most experience with high school and college ages. I am not fluent with Spanish, but in the past have worked successfully with ESL students on writing and literature.
