About Cecelia
I have been a tutor since my sophomore year of high school in 2017. I have tutored peers and children of all ages, and I find a unique joy in helping students discover their abilities in reading and writing. In May 2024 I graduated Summa Cum Laude from Scripps College, earning my Bachelor of Arts in English Literature. Like many students, I have had my fair share of academic struggles, but I've been lucky to have the help of some incredible tutors. I know that academic success is not a measure of intelligence, and many bright children can fall behind academically. As such, I pride myself in my ability to work holistically with students to help them develop organizational and time management skills so they can achieve their academic and personal goals.

I will create a personalized lesson plan tailored to your student's unique needs. Our first session will begin with an assessment, including an conversation with your student about what they would like to work on and their attitude towards tutoring.
For our second session, I will prepare an in-depth agenda (which I will make available to parents beforehand), specifically created to help your student attain their goals. Each session will include activities, practice, and homework.
Whether your child struggles with reading comprehension, or needs help writing the perfect personal statement for college applications, we will work together to build skills and confidence in any area. My goal is to help your child not only complete individual assignments, but learn how to become a resourceful student and a lover of language.
