The Age of Exploration: European powers sailed across the globe, establishing trade routes and colonies, leading to the Columbian Exchange (a massive transfer of goods, plants, and diseases).
The Enlightenment & Revolutions: New ideas about individual rights and governance fueled revolutions (American, French) and the decline of absolute monarchies.
The Industrial Revolution: The invention of the steam engine and new manufacturing techniques led to unprecedented economic growth and urbanization.
World Wars and Globalization: The 20th century was dominated by two catastrophic world wars, the Cold War, and the subsequent process of globalization, which has made the world deeply interconnected through technology and trade.
