About Althaf

I'm a down to earth, well-organized person who will concentrate on tailoring classes to the needs of the student. This is not to argue that the lessons will only include academic discussions. Like all other people, I'm willing to engage in conversation about other relevant subjects as long as it doesn't interfere with the lesson's objectives.

Although this may differ based on the students' ages and attitudes toward the lessons but my preference is to conduct lessons in a setting free of teacher and student superiority complexes. Unless an immediate intervention is required, any difficulties will be discussed with pupils before being brought to the attention of their parents or guardians.

The aforementioned may sound very serious, but I'm actually a laid-back person who can work with a variety of personalities. However, if the student isn't doing as expected with the regular approach, then some limits may need to be established.

About the lesson

Simply put, my methods will meet the needs of the students with the main objective of ensuring their success in academic examinations. Some students desire to fully grasp each and every concept, while others only want to know what is necessary to perform well on exams. Both have advantages and disadvantages, but in both cases, my main concern will be making sure the students utilise the appropriate strategy to solve their problems. This is especially important now since exam questions are applied rather than recounted from memory.

A lesson will typically last an hour, however it can vary depending on the needs of the student. The length of the classes will be optimised so that the student learns as much as possible without being mentally burnt out. The aim of my role as a tutor is to increase the knowledge and ability of an individual rather than exhaust them to death with 'too much' work.

I'm a qualified chemical engineer, currently working as that for a multinational chemical manufacturer in the UK.

Qualifications include a Master's Degree in Chemical Engineering from the prestigious University of Manchester (First Class Honours) and A-levels in Maths, Biology and Chemistry.

My lessons are intended for people of all ages but preferably KS2, KS3 and above. Please message me if you have any questions, thank you!
