About Jim
Hi, my name is Jim, and while I've done a lot of different things through my career, probably the most satisfying was my (cumulative) 19 years as a broadcast journalist. It didn't pay much, but it was exciting -- a lot of fun. I left that business with three Emmys and two Edward R. Murrow awards. I hope to help you develop your own unique writing style as you pursue a career in legacy or digital media!

Very practical, blending well with "real life". I teach theory, then practical application, then assign the students to go out there, find their own content subjects, then write about them. Then I go over their assignments to improve on their style and approach. It's a solid approach whether the student plans to pursue legacy (TV, newspaper) news reporting, developing their own blog, or becoming a content producer for other digital outlets.
