If you are a recent newcomer to Canada, and would like a class with a friendly, positive engaging instructor who will “bring you out of your shell” and help you build the confidence you need to speak to native English speakers, Maria is a great choice. What you’ll learn: My classes are 1 1/2 hrs (two academic hours)/ week for $82.50. I assign very light homework for grammar reinforcement or to prepare for discussion, and I will often also assign a level appropriate book for personal reading. --- 10 mins: Idioms/new vocabulary and use 5 mins: Pronunciation/ Phonics 20mins: We will work from a level appropriate text book for grammar reinforcement. 10 mins: Literary Discussion/Assignment 45 mins: Conversation (Choose from: Business English, Casual Conversation Themes, News and World Events, Culture and Society, Controversial Topics)
