About Ellie
I am a mom, teacher, and student myself. I am in the process of completing my master's in Education and earning my teaching certificate in History 7-12. My passion is teaching, specifically in helping students understand concepts that they may be struggling with. I have a BA in History and Political Science, and an MS in statistics and data analytics, both of which help me approach teaching from a unique angle.

Through my in-class and private tutoring experience, I've learned the best way to help a student engage is by making the lessons as fun as possible. I find ways to gamify reading and math so that it feels less like learning and more like playing. After an initial meeting, I'll come up with goals for the student and a plan for reaching them. I use data to drive the lessons and see what works for the individual student, and adapt my lesson plans accordingly. I'm also the mom of 2 amazing kids who have had their own struggles in school and use every tool in my box to engage my students in the lessons and build the skills needed to grow. I specialize in K-8.
