About Sharon

I started learning the French language at school and absolutely fell in love with it which subsequently led me to study it at the Alliance Francaise of Madras. I have successfully completed the DELF B2 and DALF C1 Exams and I am a full-time French teacher. Learning a foreign language can be intimidating, that's why it is my priority that the student understands the concepts, and applies it in his/her oral and written expression, and is able to achieve fluency. I constantly encourage making mistakes, and not to be afraid of doing it, because through experience I have found out that it is the best way to learn. Looking forward to be a part of your French learning journey!

About the lesson

Having been a student myself, I have faced a lot of hurdles and difficulties while learning a foreign language. Even though one may put in the effort, sometimes a little help and guidance goes a long way. Through my classes I help the student learn the language based on his/her needs, with material prepared after understanding their demands, including those who wish to learn it as a hobby, who wish to learn it level by level, or at the school and university level. My methodology involves learning through practice. I believe that in practicing and immersing oneself in the language, one will be able to acquire it. So, there will be activities and homework [and corrections afterward] focused on the four aspects - listening, speaking, writing and reading. I will also include teaching the cultural and social aspects relating to the French society without limiting only to the linguistic aspects [grammar, vocabulary, written and oral expression] to give a holistic approach to the acquisition of the language. I also help those interested in preparing for the DELF and DALF exams. Having cleared the exams, I know how to help the student train themselves to face the exams and successfully pass it with curated material keeping in mind the structure of these exams and also help them navigate the various resources at their disposal. I consider it vital to the learning process to teach in French. However, if the student needs it to be taught in English, it will be possible.
