About Chelsea
I have experience tutoring students at all grade levels in a variety of subjects, including Algebra, Algebra 2, Geometry, Writing, English Literature, Spanish, Science, and History. I am currently pursuing a major in Public Policy with a minor in Data Science. After I graduate, I plan on getting a masters degree in education and becoming a teacher.
My much longer term plan is to get into the field of education policy, with a goal of helping to remedy structural geographic, economic, and racial inequities characteristic to our current system.
My focus on Public Policy has allowed me to develop my researching and writing skills, as I am generally required to write several papers for each class every semester. It has also given me a deep knowledge of government. My Data Science minor has allowed me to continue developing my mathematical knowledge, and I have taken math through Linear Algebra and Multivariable Calculus.

My teaching style is pretty heavily influenced by my experience teaching and coaching swimming. I think any skill is best taught patiently, enthusiastically, and without judgement. I have a strong focus on positive reinforcement in order to build students' confidence working with concepts that might seem a little scary at first. I also focus on recognizing and honoring the individuality of every student, which allows me to develop an intuitive understanding of their learning style in order convey information in the way that works best for them.
