What will be taught? Students will build strong foundational skills in English/Afrikaans, including reading comprehension, writing, grammar, vocabulary, and speaking. What topics will I cover? We’ll cover a wide range of engaging topics such as creative writing, storytelling, poetry, reading analysis, persuasive writing, and public speaking—all tailored to each age group. How will the class be structured? Each class begins with a quick warm-up (like a fun word game or mini discussion), followed by a core lesson using slides, stories, and interactive prompts. We end with a creative or group-based activity to apply what we’ve learned. How will I teach? I use a mix of slides, games, short videos, and real-world examples to keep things dynamic. My lessons are highly interactive, and students are encouraged to ask questions and share ideas. What’s my teaching style? My teaching style is supportive, energetic, and student-centered. I love creating a cozy and encouraging environment where learners feel safe to make mistakes, grow, and shine in their own way. How often will learners get to interact with me? A lot! Students will participate in discussions, small activities, games, and breakout groups (when possible). I give personal feedback, cheer them on, and make sure every voice is heard. We keep the classroom welcoming, inclusive, and full of fun surprises.
