About Gregory

I study Management with Finance at Warwick Business School - Having completed my A-levels in; Economics, English Literature, Finance and Russian and securing 4 A grades, I decided university was the next step for me. It was a difficult decision to make as it's such a long-term commitment but I am incredibly pleased with where I have ended up! I'm here to help you progress in your studies by working directly and precisely with you on a given subject.

About the lesson

My tutoring sessions aim to delve deeper into the content than a school lesson. Rather than simply giving a superficial understanding that only allows students to answer familiar questions, I teach thorough understanding. This gives students the ability to interpret a question and the confidence to write an outstanding answer, as this requires moving beyond what is obviously relevant. A typical session would begin by setting a session objective. This is a short discussion to determine what we are aiming to achieve in the session. If there are regular sessions, there will be an overall objective and each session will be part of a schedule. This gives the student a sense of progress and targets learning effectively. The core of the session generally revolves around looking at relevant questions and addressing issues the student has. Making plans is an effective method, so that may be the centre of sessions, particularly close to exam season. This is an efficient way to teach as it covers both content and structure. The session ends with a review of what was covered and a discussion of any points that are still unclear. Finally, the student will create a list of material they are now comfortable or uncomfortable with to aid later revision.
