About Ingrid

About Me: Originally from Brazil and also holding Italian citizenship, I have been living in Ireland for the past eight years. I graduated with a degree in Psychology from the National College of Ireland and am currently pursuing a Master’s in Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy, with a focus on language and communication. My journey with English started over 15 years ago at Wizard University in Brazil. Since 2013, I have been teaching English to students of all ages, from young children to older adults. Teaching has been a consistent part of my life, and my approach has developed alongside my academic and personal experiences. Living in Ireland and being married to an Irish man gives me daily, natural exposure to the language in both casual and formal settings. This constant immersion has sharpened my ability to teach English as it is truly spoken — beyond textbooks and rigid rules. My classes are based on the Wizard University methodology, focusing on conversation rather than board work or note-taking during the lesson. Written exercises are assigned for homework, keeping the classroom dynamic and centered on real speaking practice. Every lesson is tailored to your personal goals, whether you are looking to improve everyday conversation, prepare for academic challenges, or build professional communication skills. Learning English with me is about building real-world confidence through practical use, always at a pace that suits you.

About the lesson

My English classes are conversation-focused, following the Wizard University methodology. During lessons, we don’t use a board or a pen — the goal is for you to fully engage in speaking. Written exercises are given as homework to reinforce your learning outside of class. Classes are 100% speech-based unless you have specific goals (such as academic writing, exam preparation, or professional communication), in which case I tailor the approach to suit your needs. Having lived in Ireland for 8 years, studied Psychology at the National College of Ireland, and being immersed daily in English through both professional and personal life, I bring a real-world, natural use of English into every session. Lessons are practical, flexible, and adapted to your pace. I help you become comfortable using English in everyday conversations and formal settings, offering support in overcoming common blocks to speaking confidently.
